I began my career as a personal trainer and Pilates professional at the age of 45 nearly 15 years ago. I was a woman going through a major life change; weighing over 350 pounds, I had a mission, not just to get in shape and lose weight, but to be stronger both physically and spiritually. I also wanted to be healthier, and fitter with a clear understanding of the tools needed to reach my goals. Seeking help, I could not find a trainer who understood my needs. With no choice but to take charge of my life and health, I became a woman possessed. I used medical intervention, dieting, weight training, aerobics, hiking, running, spinning classes and my first introduction to Pilates. I lost more than half my body weight in the process of this transformation and found a new career path.
From there I graduated from a college personal training certification course, continued accreditation in varied group fitness curriculum’s and earned three national certifications as a personal trainer. Working to successfully build a career teaching and training on the Peninsula, I never felt whole until returning to the teachings that inspired me most; Pilates.
Since returning to Pilates Training, I have become stronger physically, mentally, and spiritually, and have truly become the woman I’ve always aspired to be. Practicing and teaching Pilates gives me the greatest satisfaction I have ever known. This love continues to provide the means and courage for me to seek new goals and challenge boundaries every day both personally and professionally. One of my greatest goals is to bring this integrated program to you.
